Who Is WillyB?
We are a small rescue organization in Williamsburg, Brooklyn . WillyB comes from the slang word for Williamsburg.
Who We Are
WillyB Cat's mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned cats and give them the proper care, respect and love that they deserve and to find them loving, appropriate homes.
Most of the cats available for adoption come from the Williamsburg/Greenpoint, Brooklyn and NYC area. As soon as we rescue a cat or kitten it is taken to a veterinarian and provided with any medical attention required. All of our cats and kittens receive blood testing for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), vaccinations (FVRCP Vax- Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis,Calicivirus Infection, Panleukopenia and Rabies Vax), Spay/Neuter (if 5 months or older) and treatment for any parasites.
Please Understand
It is not unusual for cats to live 17 to 22 years. Cats are loyal creatures who become attached to their human companions, and are devastated if given up. Please do not adopt an animal if you cannot make a life-long commitment to the cat or kitten in question.
If you can foresee a time that you would consider giving up your cat - perhaps due to a move, a new baby, divorce, or a new relationship (with someone who doesn't like cats, perhaps) - we ask that you do not adopt.
Adopting a friend
We require all potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application and upon adoption and delivery of the cat, an Adoption Agreement. Additionally, we require a minimum donation of $100 per cat/kitten. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each cat and kitten we rescue*, and helps us to continue our ongoing rescue efforts.
*Testing for FeLV & FIV, vaccinations, deworming and neutering-if 5 months or older, supplies (high quality food, litter, toys, etc.) that each cat or kitten receives while in our care. Donations are greatly appreciated so we can rescue and find homes for more cats from the streets of Brooklyn and NYC.
**Please note: We try not to adopt kittens as single cats. We feel it is best that there be a cat presently in the home or kittens go in pairs. This benefits the kitten and the guardian.
We deliver all cats/kittens to their new home. Therefore, we can only adopt to homes in the NYC vicinity - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens.
