Who We Are
Town of Gardiner dog Control is a holding facility for stray and unclaimed dogs. All dogs in our pound are held for 5 days according to New York State Law and than placed up for adoption. We strive to be a NO-KILL and will actively search for the right match of dog and owner. We handle dogs ONLY and no other animals. All dogs are carefully evaluated and vetted before leaving to its new home. We are by appointment only so please contact us before you decide to visit. If you see something you like please email me and I will contact you back ASAP. I DO adopt to out of area applicants if the situation is right.
We have a steady flow of all breeds, mixes and size. if you do not see anything that interests you now, please check back. We are always getting new dogs in that are available.
Adopting a friend
Adopting a dog is a big responsibility. Please take the time to evaluate YOUR situation and see what kind of time you have for an animal in your life. Dogs are not play toys for children that can be discarded when the child looses interest. Please realize you are bringing a loving, living, breathing creature into your home that deserves to be cared for and loved everyday. Shelter dogs are the best! They are loyal and accept love immediately. Please understand that all animals need to adjust to new situatiions and take the time to give your new pet a new chance in your home. Sometimes small obstacles may appear BUT...if you take the time and patience you will over come them with your new found buddy.
Come Visit Us!
Our dog pound is VERY easy to find. We are located off exit 18 of the New York State T-Way which is the New Paltz exit. We are approx 70 miles North of N.Y.C and approx 70 miles South of Albany. We have very flexible hours and will be accomodating hour wise if it means that a dog has a chance to go to a wonderful home.
