Who We Are

Friends of Strays is a not-for-profit 501c(3) animal rescue group dedicated to protecting and defending the rights of stray and abandoned animals, and is run by Neide Barabas -- nbarabas@yahoo.com.

Donations

We do not have the facilities to house dogs and must board them at great expense. We are funded by individual contributions and are always in need of donations.

Adopting a friend

There are certain things you should know about Friends of Strays:

1. We are a "no kill" animal rescue group.
2. No dog, cat or any other animal, will be offered for adoption until it is thoroughly checked by a competent veterinarian, and determined to be suitable for its new home.
3. All of the funds we receive are used for the benefit of the animals. NONE OF THE PARTICIPANTS IN OUR GROUP RECEIVE PAYMENT FOR THEIR SERVICES.

We screen potential adoptive parents suitability. As much as we want to place our dogs and cats in homes, we want the adoption to "work."

If for any reason, the adoption is not successful, we will take the animal back at any time.

All animals (NO EXCEPTION) are neutered or spayed before adoption.
