Our pet of the month introduces himself:Friskie ! !
Hello, everyone! Friskie is a sweet, playful, cuddly tabby Siamese-Maine Coone mix boy, who has come a long way with us! Friskie is truly a "big ham" in the the sense of being a humorous boy with as big of a personality as his size. However, he is not quick to show it. He has a wide-eyed "deer in the headlights" STARING at his foster mom, when he first arrived. He was soooo funny after that, after he decided it was "ok" for folks to pet him, then he would sit there and stare at you, even tapping your leg, to pet him!! Quite funny and amazing, to see the change of Friskie form wariness to patiently soliciting petting: "hello!!!.....!!! I AM WAITING!!! PET ME ALREADY!!" And even when shown for adoption, he looks SOOO SCARED, but when you pick him up, he holds onto you for dear life!! While you rub his ears, hecontinuously lean his entire body weight into your hand. If you cup your hand, he'll nestle his head deep into it!! lol SOOO CUTE!! And also Friskie would do anything for a food treat, which is a great way to build a rappore with him!

Siamese cats are a very unique and challenging breed. They are highly intelligent and affectionate, but can be demanding in terms of their need for human attention and entertainment. If left to their own devices, they can be rather creative in their amusements, perhaps to their owners' distress! If you have never owned a Siamese cat before, we recommend that you read about the breed. Here is one recommended book: Siamese Cats
