Who We Are
Monster Rescue is a "self funded" rescue. I take my rescue very seriously and very personally. I am 100% hands on with the pets from feeding to cleaning and everything inbetween. The large majority of the pets on our site reside at our home. Although the dogs are in kennels, they are still being cared for in a "home" enviornment. They are exposed to children, other animals, and all sorts of different noises. I feel this helps them to maintain a "pet" state of mind rather then a "rescue or shelter dog" state of mind.
All of our dogs are social, well behaved boys and girls who have simply fallen through the cracks due to no fault of their own. We do not tolerate aggressive dogs. All of our dogs must be wonderful with children and respectful of other animals.
Monster Rescue is not a breed specific rescue. We love all breeds and mixes and are dedicated to helping any adoptable dog find a new home. However, for insurance purposes, we cannot accept pit bulls or pit bull mixes. We are more than happy to list your friendly pit on our site, free of charge, as long as you can keep him/her in your home.
If you see a dog you would like to meet, please call or e mail to set up an appointment. Since the rescue is ran from my home, appointments are a requirement. Anybody who drops in without an appointment will be rudely asked to leave. We do have personal dogs who have been members of our family for sometime.....these are not adoptable to anybody for any price!!!
Adoption fees are a vital part of the rescue cycle. Whithout them, we would not be able to save the next dog and afford the vet care to find them a new home. In the same respect, we do not reimburse fees or expenses incurred after the adoption has taken place. However, if the adoption does not work out for any reason, we will take the dog back without a surrender fee as long as all aspects of the agreement have been honored.
Surrendering your pet to Monster Rescue is an option, when space allows. We require your pet be altered and current on vaccinations to qualify. Your pet must also get along with other animals and be great with kids. Surrender fees vary depending on situation. From now on, any pet abandoned at Monster Rescue will be turned over to the Lander County Animal Control.
