The Animal Relief Foundation is a non-profit organization located in Elko, Nevada. We are THE HUMANE SOCIETY for Elko County. We are NOT the City of Elko Animal Shelter/Pound, which is owned and operated by the City of Elko. We do work in cooperation with the City and County on cases of animal abuse or neglect along with abuse to humans.
We want to see to it that responsible pet owners go to local shelters where they will find a wonderful pet to adopt, and actually save the life of that animal. There are over 4,000,000 puppies, kittens, dogs and cats destroyed every year in shelters across this country. To help reduce the number of unwanted litters being born and ending up in shelters, ARF will continue to promote our low cost spay/neuter assistance program. Incidents of cruelty to animals are rampant, and pet overpopulation continues to be a serious problem. Every day in the United States, more than 70,000 puppies and kitten are born. When this number is compared to the 10,000 human births each day, it's clear that there can never be enough homes for all these animals.
We will fight to stop cruelty to animals. People who abuse animals rarely stop there. Studies show that people who abuse their pets are also likely to abuse their children. So if you see an animal mistreated or neglected, please report it. Because the parent who comes home and kicks the cat or dog is probably just warming up. Report abuse--you could save a life.

The Animal Relief Foundation offers Low Cost Spay and Neuter Assistance to all pet owners in Elko County. Please contact us at the phone number below for more information! We ask for an adoption donation of $75.00 minimum for dogs and $50.00 adoption donation for cats. The dogs and cats we have available for adoption are spayed or neutered and all vaccines are current.
