Cape Breton SPCA
Spring 2006
This is a very busy time for us and all our cages are full of cats, dogs, puppies and kittens.
Please visit the shelter and our booth at the Mayflower Mall on Saturdays to learn more about our adoptable pets. Not all of our shelter residents are put on the website as there are just so many of them! Any shape, size or colour of cat or dog you are looking for is probably there waiting for you to take them home...
If you have lost your family pet we recommend you come to the shelter in person to look for them and please bring a photo with you.
Remember to always provide your dog or cat with identification. We sell dog tags and cat tags or you can have your pet microchipped.
Without identification 70% of pets in North America don't make it home.
Who We Are
Cape Breton SPCA serves the entire Island of Cape Breton. The number of animals that come through out doors is overwhelming. Please consider adopting your next pal. Donations are always needed (food, supplies, or monetary donations greatly appreciated). Please consider a gift for the animals. Tip: Kongs make great donations as we can disinfect them in our dishwasher and reuse them. We can fill the kongs with treats and place them in the kennels with the dogs to reduce their stress and keep them occupied. You can also purchase a Kuranda bed for one of our kennels directly online and it will be delivered right to the shelter. Visit the Kuranda site for more details: http://www.kuranda.com/shop/donate.asp?intShelterID=1277&strFormStage=b
Adopting a friend
There are always many dogs and cats waiting for new homes. Please come and meet them. Adoption prices are $130 for dogs/puppies and $90 for cats and kittens. This fee includes spay/neuter, first vaccination, deworming, an examination with your vet, and a municipal dog identification tag.
This makes our pets even cheaper than "free to a good home" because all that would set you back several hundred dollars on your own. What a great deal, huh?
When phoning about an animal please refer to their ID# and not their name.
Come Visit Us!
Come visit one of the many great pets available for adoption. Please note that we do not ship animals.
