This April 2007 remembers 10 years of Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New Jersey! We have saved over 1,000 cockers from an uncertain futures. We have closed puppy breeding operations, taken cockers from some awful places and we continue to believe in the breed.
We are an individually run not-for-profit cocker rescue. We temporarily foster
cockers from shelters and impossible situations in a home or kennel setting. The volunteers
are members of various breed and obedience clubs and although Rescue is in an independent
operation, there is individual member support of the project.
We need foster homes in the Central NJ area.
Maybe you can help us with transport? Picking up owner surrenders, or cockers that need to be sprung from a shelter. Possibly taking one in to the vet for an office visit.
If this sounds like something you'd like to become involved with, please give us a call. Thanks!!!
There is an adoption fee. All animals are groomed, have been
vet checked, vaccinations have been boostered if necessary, and they are neutered
if old enough.
All foster dogs are temperament evaluated and attempts are made to place each individual
dog with the most compatible home; however, all prospective adoptees must understand
that these are dogs in need of a second chance and may come with some baggage which
may not be apparent at the outset.
Cockers are not a wash and wear breed. They require frequent REGULAR brushing and
periodic professional grooming
