PLEASE READ ANGIE'S STORY (submitted by her owner)- SHE IS SWEET AND WONDERFUL AND EVER SO URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME! CAN YOU PLEASE HELP HER?
Angie (short for 'my little angel') is about 7-8 years old. She is up to date on all of her shots and and fixed. She has NOT been declawed. She does have some skin minor allergies, which pop up every once in a while. These allergies have not been directly identified by a veterinarian but none have expressed serious concern. They're generally treated with some cleaning solution or possibly a shot of cortisone; i.e. no excessive treatment. Angie does not play well with other cats. She loves to snuggle, and likes lots of attention.

I rescued Angie from the wild cat cage of an animal shelter after an ex-girlfriend just decided she didn't want her. My initial intent was to find a home for her immediately, but I got used to her and fell in love. She's restricted to one room in my home and my schedule does not provide her with the attention she needs now that I have a sick relative living with me. I would really appreciate if you could find her a loving home where she can get the attention she wants and deserves.

Every Saturday from 12 to 5PM & Most Sundays from 12 to 4PM, adoption days take place at Petco in Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, NJ.

Who We Are
SARA Inc. is a animal rescue and placement organization. We are a 501c(3) organization, so your donations are tax deductible. We are comprised of devoted volunteers, some with over thirty years of experience. We have a Board of Trustees and Officers who have hands-on knowledge of how to run an effective and efficient animal rescue organization. We are all actively involved and committed to helping as many cats and dogs as we can!
Our focus is cats and kittens. SARA's priority is to get as many rescued animals placed in good and caring homes. One of our main objectives is population control so we also manage feral colonies with a spay/neuter program.
Adopting a friend
We do not have a shelter. All our animals are fostered in homes and put on display at Petco in Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, NJ, when ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please call Betty 'B' at (908)464-1203

Please stop by Petco in Blue Star Shopping Center located on Route 22 West in Watchung, NJ to see our current animals available for adoption. We are there almost every Saturday afternoon between 12 and 5PM. As well as most Sundays from 12PM to 4PM.
Getting Involved!
Make a Donation: Due to the amount of vetting we do on adoptable and un-adoptable cats, financial funding is critical. Paypal donations can be sent or checks can be made payable to SARA, Inc. and you can mail them to SARA, PO Box 124, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.

During adoption days at Petco, donations of canned and dry cat food and litter is always appreciated as well as other items specified on our Wish List. These items can be handed to any of our official volunteers. Other arrangements for donations can be made by contacting the S.A.R.A. location near you.
At certain times of the year, S.A.R.A., Inc. also gathers donated items for garage sales as well as our ebay site.

Volunteer Your Time: Volunteers are always needed and very much welcome not only during our Pet Adoption Days on Saturdays, but also in the daily care of the cats and kittens being kept on display at Petco.
Volunteers are also needed for Petco in Old Bridge!We have recently begun showing some of our cats and kittens at the Petco Gateway Shopping Center, on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge. We are in desperate need of capable volunteers to take one or two slots a week (mornings or evenings) to help with cage cleaning, feeding and caring for our cats and kittens. Please consider being part of a S.A.R.A.'s effort to place even more animals in good, stable homes. Contact Kathleen at 732-309-4089 (or e-mail SARACats@aol.com) if you can help in this area. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have dependable transportation.
Foster Homes: Being a foster home is a fantastic experience. Foster homes are always needed to work with cats, kittens for both long and short term periods, depending on the needs of the animal to groom them into adoptable pets.
Be an Angel: Desperately needed are people with big hearts willing to take in a blood positive (feline aids) cat or kitten. Many of these live long, healthy lives. As a note, FIV cannot be transmitted to humans.

Together with Cheeburger Cheeburger of Westfield we will also be doing a fundraiser on June 19th. 15% of all purchases will go directly to S.A.R.A's kitties!
