C.A.P. is always on the look out for that right home for that special pet. We are willing to wait for as long as it takes.

AS MORE AND MORE DOGS ARE EITHER CONFISCATED FROM PUPPY MILLS OR RELEASED, WE NEED FAMILIES WHO UNDERSTAND THESE ABUSED DOGS TO COME FORWARD AND ADOPT THEM. THERE ARE WONDERFUL ARTICLES AND GREAT RESOURCES TO HELP YOU AFTER YOU HAVE ADOPTED A MILL SURVIVOR. NOTHING IS MORE FULFILLING THAN SEEING THEM OVERCOME THEIR YEARS OF ABUSE."

Who We Are

COMPANION ANIMAL PLACEMENT, C.A.P., is a no-kill, non-profit organization committed to saving the lives of animals while educating the public about the spaying and neutering of all pets. CAP is run 100% by volunteers and was founded in 1989 for the sole purpose of finding homes for all the unwanted animals. Our animals come from shelters, abusive homes, the street or once happy homes forced to abandon their helpless pet. All of our rescues are seen by a vet, vaccinated and altered if they are old enough.

Visiting Hours

Companion Animal Placement would like to invite you to come meet all our wonderful pets up for adoption. All our "little companions" are seen by appointment only so if you're interested in a particular animal, please email us to set up an appointment.

Adopting a Friend

We have a link to our online adoption application in each pet profile, just click on it and fill out the application! It's just that easy! Remember, an imcomplete application makes our job of finding the perfect match for an animal difficult and prolongs the adoption process, so please complete the application. If you have any questions concerning a particular animal there is also an email address on each pet's profile. These volunteers are familiar with the animal and can answer any questions you may have prior to starting the adoption process.

Volunteering and Donations

Sign up to be a volunteer on Petfinder's Hompage. Your information is then put into a database that we scan on a regular basis for volunteers in the area.

Donations are always appreciated. As stated in the marquee above, we are in desperate need of cat beds to go around to all the new cats we have now. They don't have to be fancy, just machine washable. We are also in constant need of blankets, comforters, dog and cat toys, marrow bones, grooming supplies, and litter boxes. We pay daily for thier board, so cash donations are greatly appreciated as well. Please use the email below to arrange a good time to drop your donation off at the kennel.

News

CAP has always been a no kill rescue group, therefore we have animals who for one reason or another never seem to get adopted. We have decided to call them "our lifers". These dogs and cats are always up for parole (adoption!), but if that doesn't happen, they can spend the rest of thier lives with us. In order to make thier lives more comfortable, we are looking for volunteers to come and walk and play with them.

Some of our pets have been with us so long they really need something to make thier days more enjoyable, please donate.
