The need is so great that each day it seems we must weigh the availability of homes against rescuing a dog in need of a new life. Schnauzer Rescue of the Carolinas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization -- all of our adoption donations go back into helping care for other rescues. None of our volunteers are paid - it is all a labor of love! Our Adoption Donation requested (only when Adoption is finalized) is between $250 to $550 (These include vet costs, spay/neuter and heartworm treatments if necessary, and is determined by the age and breed of the dog that is being adopted.) Since we commit to the lifetime of every dog we rescue and place, we adopt out our rescues only within our area of states - North Carolina, South Carolina, Southern Virginia (Richmond south), Eastern Tennessee, and Northern Georgia.

PLEASE NOTE: Although our Petfinder website is updated often, it may not reflect the most recent happenings with our dogs. If you are truly interested in adopting, please fill out an Adoption Application as soon as possible to begin the process.
Although you may specify a dog you are interested in, we cannot guarantee that dog will be available once the application approval process is complete. We work on a first approved basis, so an applicant who was approved ahead of you may request the same dog. Even if you are not ready to adopt at this moment, it is best for you to apply and complete the approval process so you will be in line as we have more dogs coming in. SRC NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!!! In trying to help as many dogs as possible, the SRC has steadily been spending more money on the medical needs of rescues than we have been receiving for their adoption donations - this has been a necessity to help the dogs who truly need it.
