I’m tall, dark and handsome. I’m also a special needs boy, but you would never know it to look at me. The doctor says my heart valve leaks a little, but otherwise my heart is healthy as a horse. In fact some folks think I am a horse I’m so big – just kidding. I’m one big, shy, sweet boy who is looking for that special person, that forever home. I may not be perfect, but I would make someone a terrific kitty.

Adoption Fair Calendar
Feral Cat Assistance Program holds adoption fairs every Saturday and Sunday. You can meet a number of cats and kittens that live in foster homes at the adoption fair.

Who We AreThere are an estimated 60 million feral cats living in the alley ways and on the streets of the United States today. Feral cats are the non-domesticated offspring of abandoned social cats. These cats live out their lives finding food in garbage dumpsters or occasional handouts from humans. They endure the inclement weather and the unkind acts of people that do not like cats. Feral cats exist because people do not spay or neuter their pets and abandon their pets. A pair of unsterilized cats and their offspring can produce 420,000 cats in seven years. Less than 50-percent of these kittens will survive. The majority of these kittens die due to illness and starvation. Feral Cat Assistance Program, Inc. (FCAP) was formed to end this tragedy. FCAP has sterilized approximately 4,000 feral cats and kittens in this community preventing the birth of thousands of unwanted kittens.
Feral Cat spay DaysFeral Cat Assistance Program holds monthly Spay Days at no cost to Managed Feral Cat Colony Caregivers. The caregivers must sign a contract stating that they will continue to care for the Colony. Please call 336-378-0878 Line 1 for more information on Spay Days.
FCAP is a nonprofit all volunteer organization that provides an avenue for the sterilization, adoption and placement of feral cats and kittens in this community. FCAP is not affiliated with any other humane organization in the state of North Carolina and does not receive funding from the United Way or the government. FCAP is an all-volunteer organization without paid employees and does not have an office or facility to house animals. The programs of this organization that are available to help feral cats and kittens in this community are funded solely by private donations.
Adopting a friendOur goal is to place the animals in our foster program in loving homes with people who are willing to make a lifelong commitment to them. The welfare of our adoptive animals is our main priority and for that reason Feral Cat Assistance Program, Inc. does not engage in same-day adoptions. There is a twenty-four to forty-eight hour processing time for an application.
As part of the application process, an FCAP volunteer will ask for a veterinary reference and in the case of rental housing, landlord approval. Please understand that each foster parent has donated his or her time and talents to nurture the adoptive animal and for that reason the foster parent will home deliver their foster animal once an application has been approved.
