Who We Are
The Humane Society of Lincoln County, Inc. is a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purposes are to promote the welfare and humane treatment of animals in Lincoln County, find homes for homeless animals, facilitate low cost spay/neuter programs, and to reduce euthanasia at the animal shelter by helping them adopt unwanted animals.
Adopting A Friend - where to meet our adoptable pets.
We show our cats and kittens at two locations: The University PetSmart in Charlotte on Saturdays and Sundays, and the Northlake PetSmart in Charlotte all week in the adoption center. The University Petsmart address is: 8116 University City Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28213. The address for the Northlake PetSmart is 10245 Perimeter Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28216. If you want to know where to meet a particular cat, please email us, and come and see our wonderful cats!
For our Northlake adoption center, we do rotate our kitties quite often, so if you see a kitty that you like and the next day it's not there, please check with us because the kitty may just be back at his/her foster home for some cuddle time with the foster family.
Our dogs are generally shown at Petmania in Huntersville and other locations, so please check with the foster home listed in each dog's Petfinder description.
Adopting A Friend - adoption process.
Our foster animals receive the utmost medical attention. Each animal you adopt from us has had or will have the following completed prior to an adoption:
Spayed or Neutered
Routine Vaccinations kept current
Rabies Vaccine
Fecal Exam
Heartworm Tested (for all dogs 6 months or over)
All necessary preventatives kept current including but not limited to: Flea, Tick, Earmite, and Heartworm Prevention
Our adoption fees are $150 for Canines and $125 for Felines
If you'd like to apply for one of our pets for adoption, you can download our application and email it back to us at either UniversityFosters@gmail.com or to the address listed in the pet's description, if different. You can either email it in the original format, or print, scan and email the scanned documents. If you would like to fax it, please email us for a fax number. You can also drop your completed application off at University Petsmart on weekends (please be sure to give it to a volunteer) or Northlake Petsmart during store business hours (slide it under the door of the 24/7 adoption center).
Please also review our adoption policies and guidelines. You will be asked to sign this form as acknowledgement that you agree with our policies.
To set expectations once an application is received, please review our approval process.
Donations
The Humane Society of Lincoln County Inc. appreciates any and all donations. We are currently in need of cages and large size pet porters. Any and all donations you make goes directly to the benefit of our foster animals. If you would like to make a donation please mail it to our address listed below. There are not enough "woofs" or "meows" to thank you.
