Open House
GDRC holds open house on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 1-5 p.m., weather permitting. Our open houses are held at 10425 Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd, Huntersville NC.
Our Mission
GDRC is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing abandoned dogs from North and South Carolina in safe environments where they can recieve the care and affection they deserve. GDRC has been devoted to saving these beautiful gentle giants for over 12 years.
Adopting a friend
GDRC's adoption procedure is a four step process. When a potential dog owner has chosen a dog of his or her choice, an application is filed. The potential new owners then return to spend quality time with their choosen Dane for two visits. At that time GDRC will make an appointment with the potential new owners to visit their home and evaluate the Dane's potential new surroundings. When all is approved, the new family enters into an adoption contract and is then ready to take their Dane home. GDRC's adoption fee is $250. This includes the price of mircrochipping and registration.
Where we're Located!
GDRC is located at 10425 Mt. Holly/Huntersville Road, Huntersville NC. Off I-77 North take the Reames Road exit (Exit 18) and turn left at the stop sign. Go straight until this road intersects with Mt. Holly/Huntersville Road. Turn right, and the Great Dane Rescue is approximately 1 mile ahead on your left.
