In 2007 we facilitated the spay or neuter of 450 pets in the Libby and Troy area. We can help you. Since the end of 2005 we have taken in, spayed or neutered, brought up to date on meds, and adopted out 1182 animals! We are a no kill shelter. January through July 2008 we have facilitated the spay/neuter of 249 animals. Kootenai Pets for Life have made this all possible. Thank You! |
![]() Do you want to hear the sound of purring in your home? |
Ajax Kootenai Pets for Life Inc., Libby, MT Ajax is an adult medium sized black and white DLH. He is good with other cats and ready to be adopted. He has a very loud purrrr. When he is happy he can be heard purring from across the room. This pet is up to date with routine

![]() Did you know that black dogs are the last ones to be adopted from Shelters. It is such a shame because Ebony would make such a great addition to a family. |
Ebony Kootenai Pets for Life Inc., Libby, MT Ebony is a 10 month (when she moved into the Shelter) old spayed female Black Lab/Golden Retriever cross. She was turned in by her owner and will be medium sized when fully grown. She has medium length black hair. She is really good with kids and is fully housetrained. Ebony likes to travel in vehicles. She is a beautiful dog with great training opportunites. Her face looks like a Lab. She has not received very much training, but responds very well to attention and love and would probably learn pretty quickly. This pet is up to date with routine shots. You can fill out an adoption application on line. |

We were able to receive the $20,000 matching grant to build our new Shelter because of the hard work of all the volunteers and generous friends of the Shelter we raised $20,000. We started with a perk and water test last fall and in January we got our well drilled and pump installed. In May the land was cleared in the area of the building. June 7 we had a community day and an Eagle Scout built a storage building as his project. Now we have the foundation and are working on setting up drainage pipes etc. We are on our way one step at a time and one dollar at a time. Our goal is to have a building up and enclosed before winter. We still must continue our fund raising so we will be able to finish the inside of the building and other necessities. We do hope to have it in a state so that we can move the animals in before the snow falls (or before it gets very deep!) Do you have a special skill that can be used in building the Shelter? Concrete? Framing? Roofing? Building? Painting? Can you donate money (tax deductible) to the KPFL Building Fund, Box 1454, Libby, MT 59923 or call (406)293-6407. Or e-mail |
