Who We Are
We are dedicated to finding permanent, quality homes for our adoptable animals. Those wanting to adopt an animal from us will be asked to complete an adoption application for that purpose. We strive to place each animal into an appropriately matched home. Some dogs or cats are fine with children and other pets, and may be appropriate for first time pet owners. Other animals may have behavioral issues, or be more assertive in their demeanor, requiring more experienced owners. The questions on the application enable us to better assist you with matching your needs in a pet with those of our animals. Please understand that it is very stressful and upsetting for the animal, for you, and for our staff, when adoptions don't work out and a pet has to be returned to us. Additionally, a bad adoption experience can harm the shelter's good reputation, and potentially ruin people from adopting from ANY shelter again.
Adoption Fees
The adoption fee for a dog is $80.00, and for a cat is $55.00. Those fees include sterilization of the animal, a distemper combination vaccination and administration of a basic worming medication. Those fees do NOT include required testing of the animals for heartworm, feline leukemia/FIV, rabies vaccinations, or other required procedures. Additional fees are due and payable to the veterinarian upon possession of the animal.

From the south, take I-35 north to 210 Hwy east. Follow 210 Hwy east to 291 Hwy north. Once on 291 Hwy north, take the first right turn which is Old 210 Hwy east. We are 1/4 mile on the right (south) side of the road.
From the north, take I-35 south to 152 Hwy east. Follow 152 Hwy east to 291 Hwy south. Follow 291 Hwy south to Old 210 Hwy and turn left (east). We are 1/4 mile on the right (south) side of the road.
Our hours are:
The Shelter is open Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday and Friday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM and Saturday 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. We are open by appointment only, on Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays.
