Friends Of Animals
Our Featured Pet...
MEMORIAL - This is in dedication to Miss Gracie Ann, lost to Lymphoma on December 21, 2007. Gracie Ann spent the last 6 months of her life with a wonderful foster family, all of us knowing her time was limited after diagnosis in August 2007. Gracie Ann was a wonderful, loving older girl who would have loved laying all day in the warm sunshine, or following her foster mom throughout the days events. We were all touched and blessed to have her with us. Thank you Kelly and Caine for giving her a warm bed at night and days filled with love. We know she is in good company at the Rainbow Bridge and has found that warm sunny spot to bask in. We were touched by her soul and will miss her.

LOVED FOREVER, NEVER FORGOTTEN
Friends of Animals Humane Society mourns the loss of a beloved friend, Star Wilmering, May 4, 2008. Star was the president of Friends Of Animals for 6 years, a tireless and passionate advocate in protecting and providing homes for stray and unwanted animals. Her accomplishments are too many to mention; her mark left on "making a difference" will be lasting. She will always be in our hearts, loved forever, never forgotten. We love you Star.
Who We Are
Friends Of Animals is a private, non profit (501C) organization serving Miller County and the surrounding areas. We are funded entirely by sales at the Thrift Shoppe, memberships and donations. We were established and incorporated in 1974. We offer a spay/neuter program established in the name of Maxine Baird, a pet food pantry, a memorial wall to honor our "Best Friends" who have passed away, cans for critters, foster family care and emergency medical funding. Our goal is to construct and operate an animal shelter to service Miller county and the surrounding areas.
UPDATE!!!!!
Friends Of Animals Humane Society have been working very hard to reach the goal of a new shelter to service the north side of Lake Of The Ozarks. WE ARE BUILDING!!! This has been a dream from the very beginning (1974) and we are in the process of constructing a new building to house our Thrift Shoppe, cat room and adjoining dog sanctuary. It has never been more important to this project than now for any support, either donations of materials, time, expertise and of course monitary donations from our community. We need our community to finish this project and help with the many homeless and injured animals that are becoming greater in number every day. Those involved are completely committed and will see this project through. We can't do this alone. Please call or come by our Thrift Shoppe for more information or questions. We are tax deductible; any donations can be used for tax purposes. THIS IS A COMMUNITY PROJECT, TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF SO MANY ANIMALS. LET'S MAKE OUR WORLD A BETTER PLACE!
Adopting a friend
PETCO ADOPTIONS
We now have some of our feline babies at the Petco in Osage Beach Missouri available for adoption. Please stop by for a visit....your new best friend might be there waiting for you!!
Adoptors must be at least 18 years old and have valid identification with name and present address. If renting we require landlord permission. Mixed Breed Dogs/Puppies $55.00 to $150.00 including spay/neuter voucher, vaccinations and rabies. Mixed Breed Cats/Kittens $45.00 includes spay/neuter voucher, vaccinations and rabies.
Purebred and small breed Dogs/Puppies $125.00 to $300. including spay/neuter voucher, vaccinations and rabies. We reserve the right to change any adoption fees, and these changes will be noted on the listings.
Purebred Cats/Kittens $75.00 to $150.00, including spay/neuter voucher, vaccinations and rabies.
Please know the adoption fees requested for our small breed and purebred dogs help to off set the added expense needed to help those that are larger and harder to re-home. These expenses could include major veterinary expenses, food and housing. We never come out ahead with any adoptions; our sales at our thrift shop make up the difference for these beautiful animals.
Out of State Adoptions....Any pet adopted young or not spayed or neutered at time of adoption, adopting family must pay spay/neuter fee excluding the $50.00 voucher to Friends Of Animals Humane Society before leaving. After proof of procedure by veterinarian, the fee will be paid to the veterinary clinic. Spay/Neuter and a responsible family is the only way to help solve the overpopulation of unwanted pets. This is very important to Friends Of Animals.
