IMPS could use YOUR help!

We are in desperate need of volunteers/foster homes to help us. Our biggest need is for foster homes to help us take care of these babies until a permanent home can be found. You do not have to be a stay-at-home person to foster. You need to provide the dog with adequate shelter, love, and good food. Veterinary costs would be paid by IMPS. You help evaluate the dog to help find him/her a home that would meet not only his/her needs but the needs of the future home as well. You would have a say in the selection of a home for any dog you foster.

Fostering is a strictly personal choice and is not a requirement for any volunteer of IMPS. We have many volunteers who cannot foster but can do transports, home checks, call vet references, etc.

If you are unable to foster, we can always use financial assistance. Donations can be sent to IMPS, Inc., PO Box 15305, Clearwater, FL 33766-5305. Leashes, collars, toys and good quality dog food can always be used by our foster homes. If you like to sew, we can use small blankets, snuggle sacks, belly bands or small coats during the cold season.

Rescue work and volunteer work is at times sad, but the joys are many. We work together to help these little dogs, one dog at a time. We would love to have you join us!

Who We Are

The Internet Miniature Pinscher Service, Inc. (IMPS) was formed in July of 1998 with the adoption of ?Lister? through a miniature pinscher e-mail group. Visit us at our homepage at http://www.minpinrescue.org.

IMPS is a different sort of rescue group, providing a loosely knit band of rescue stations around the United States rather than an individual base in one area of the country. At this time, IMPS has over 540 volunteers across the country.

IMPS was formed because we recognized a need to place cast-off miniature pinschers in appropriate homes. IMPS actively searches for miniature pinschers in need of assistance and places them in approved homes where they can become the family members they were meant to be.

All IMPS miniature pinschers are placed into loving foster homes where they will remain until they find their forever families. All miniature pinschers placed through IMPS will be spayed or neutered prior to placement, and will be thoroughly evaluated by their foster homes for temperament and training needs. They will also receive any and all medical care that they need.

An adoption fee is charged for dogs placed through IMPS. This fee may vary depending on the age and health of the dog, or the individual circumstances of the placement. In addition, IMPS will generally request reimbursement of required veterinary costs (i.e. the cost of the spay/neuter, micro-chipping, and any veterinary care required prior to placement), and in some circumstances, travel costs. All of the adoption fees go into an IMPS fund to pay the unusual medical expenses for dogs most adopters couldn?t afford on their own, like treating a heartworm positive dog or extensive leg surgery. Many rescue organizations routinely turn away dogs with serious medical problems but we NEVER have and don?t intend to start. This is why the adoption fee is so important to the work we do.

IMPS is a not-for-profit corporation as recognized by the State of Florida Department of State, and is registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (registration number: SC-09935).

IMPS does not retain professional solicitors; therefore, one hundred percent of all contributions come directly to IMPS.

A copy of the official registration and financial information may be obtained from the Division of Consumer Services by calling toll-free within the state, 800-435-7352. Registration does not imply endorsement, approval, or recommendation by the state.

IMPS is exempt under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). However, it is suggested that you consult your tax professional for a determination as to whether any contribution may be tax deductible.
