The Minnesota House Rabbit Society is now the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society (MCRS). Our name may have changed, but our purpose stays the same! For more information on our name change, please visit our website.

Rocky & Remy are a bonded pair with lots of spunk, lots of entertaining character, and bundles of love to give in spite of their "mature" age. Check out their profile to learn more about their characters and favorite activities. If you think Rocky and Remy might be the right companions for you, please let us know.
To learn more about rabbits, their care and behavior -- please mark your calendars for upcoming events.
Bunny Basics classes are presented by MCRS educators and provide a helpful overview of rabbit behavior and care. Great for families considering a companion rabbit, for first time rabbit owners, or for those who want to brush up on their rabbit basics. FREE!
At the Adoption Events, stop by and meet some local rabbits looking for loving, permanent homes. MCRS Educators and Volunteers will be on hand to answer general questions, explain the adoption process, or help you find the right rabbit for you! ! (Please note: So you have all the info you need and are well-prepared for your new family member, an application needs to be completed and an interview take place, before the rabbit goes home. So, what that means is, if you meet a rabbit and fall in love, you won't be going home that same day with him or her!)
To see the full calendar of events --including Bunny Basics classes and Adoption events, please visit MCRS at www.mn.companionrabbit.org and click on the "Join Us" heading. Also visit www.rabbit.org for helpful information on rabbit care and behavior!
The MCRS relies on membership support. Help us reach our goal of adding 100 members this year! Memberships begin as low as $10/year and include a subscription to our periodic newsletter. If you are interested in helping us to help rabbits, please visit our web page and view our membership options.
Looking for hay for your rabbit? MCRS sells hay, food pellets and litter at several locations in the Twin Cities. Each location is a volunteer's home, so supply pick ups are by appointment only. Please call us at 651-768-9755, Opt 2, to schedule an appointment.
Rabbits available through the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society are all homeless rabbits taken in through partnerships with local animal shelters and animal control facilities. The rabbits have been examined by veterinarians, are sterilized and microchipped, and are cared for by private foster homes. The goal of the MCRS adoption program is to match these rabbits with families like yours to best accommodate the needs and interest of both. The MCRS adoption process includes an application, a phone interview, and an in-person visit to meet the rabbit(s). The adoption fee is $75 for each rabbit.
The Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society is an all-volunteer group. If you are interested in adopting a rabbit, please email us to receive an application and other rabbit adoption and care materials. Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless rabbit!
Bunny Dates - MCRS also offers "dating" services to help match your current rabbit with an appropriate companion. Since rabbits are naturally social, they often do better with a companion than being single. The rabbits are able to provide continuous companionship, even during those times the humans have to work, etc. Please note your rabbit needs to be sterilized to begin the "dating" process.
Consultations - If MCRS does not have a foster that is the right rabbit for you, we will gladly work with you and other humane organizations to find a suitable rabbit. Our rabbit experts will accompany you to visit with rabbits at humane societies and offer insight about those rabbits to ensure the best possible match.
