Who We Are
The Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society (BENCHS) is a non-profit shelter dedicated to finding homes for homeless cats and dogs in Blue Earth and Nicollet counties. The Society has a shelter located in Manakto, and also uses volunteer foster homes to house pets until they find permanent homes.
Volunteers are the only way that BENCHS can serve needy animals. Please contact the shelter to find out how you can join and how you can become a volunteer!

NEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED FOR BENCHS
A new website has been launched to provide more information about BENCHS. The site will continue to develop over the next several weeks, and will also include pictures of adoptable animals and news about the society, including plans to raise money for a much needed new shelter. Adopting a Pet
Many loving cats and dogs are ready and waiting to be adopted. There is a short screening process and fees ($100 for cats, $150 if declawed; $125 for large dogs and $175 for small dogs) involved in adopting pets. Pure breds, exotic cats, etc. require higher fees.
The screening is to help insure that the adoption will be successful and the fees help offset the cost of caring for the pet, vet checks, and spay or neutering. For more information, please call the shelter.
