PICKET FENCE POODLE RESCUE will accept an adoptable Poodle who is either abandoned in a shelter, or purchased/rescued by any concerned person, or living with an owner who can no longer care for the Poodle. We also participate in rescue and placement of Poodles who are culled from Breeders or Puppy Mills.
PICKET FENCE POODLE RESCUE feels educating and informing the public about the commercial dog industry in America and about responsible pet ownership is very important as well as reviving the spirit of volunteerism in our great county.
PICKET FENCE POODLE RESCUE wishes to eliminate the euthanasia of any healthy, adoptable Poodles. We do not accept euthanasia as a means of population control for animals. We believe each Poodle's life is meaningful and each deserves a loving home. We take responsibility for each Poodle rescued and placed through Picket Fence Poodle Rescue for the rest of the dogs' natural life.
WHO WE ARE
Picket Fence Poodle Rescue is a BREED SPECIFIC, small, home, family environment Rescue and Rehome organization.
We pride ourselves in keeping our operation small in order to provide our Poodles the loving home and family environment they need to thrive.
We are a sensible no-kill environment. However, if a Poodle is beyond help (trained for aggression and poses an immediate threat) BY LAW the dog must be euthanized for both the safety of all people involved as well as the dogs own well being.
We will also euthanize a Poodle that is terminally ill and beyond medical help with no hope of any quality of life left.
At "The Rainbow Bridge", the Poodle will be happily waiting for someone's empty arms of love!!
Aside from these specific circumstances, we believe no Poodle is beyond being adopted by the right people. We DO NOT euthanize any Poodle just because it has been with our family a long time.

OUR POODLES COME FROM WHERE?
At various times, Poodles come to us in need of good homes. These poodles can be very old or young, or are being retired from a breeding kennel, rescued from a puppy mill, or have been in the "SHOW" circut and have been unable to "Finish", or the owner has died, or has not been properly cared for, or is just no longer wanted.
For whatever reason these poodles have come to Picket Fence Poodle Rescue, it does not affect their ability to be a wonderful companion for you. In fact, most of these poodles are so starved for your love and attention that they are truly thankful for your providing them with your warm, loving home. Their devotion and loyalty to you and your family will be evident.
ADOPTING A FRIEND
Picket Fence Poodle Rescue adoption fees start at $200.00 and go up from there. This is based on the poodles age, size and needs.
After a phone or e-mail interview, we will send you the application for adoption. This will help us with the placement.
An appointment will be set up for you to come and meet us with the Poodle you wish to adopt.
A fenced yard or exercise pen maybe required as some Poodles have never been on a leash.
Because we occasionally do home visits both before and after the adoption, we do NOT adopt to homes outside a ONE DAYS DRIVE (round trip) from here. However, in certain conditions, we will and have make exceptions to this policy.
ALL OUR POODLES ARE:
If there are any health issues or problems, you will be instructed on how to deal with the problems.
We want your poodle "Adoption" to work!! If it doesn't work or for ANY REASON or for NO REASON you don't want the Poodle, we want the Poodle returned to us.
Our poodles are placed in good, loving homes, like yours, with the intention that they will receive the love and care that all God's creations were intended to receive. We hope you understand that these poodles come to your home for the final day's of their lives: A "FOREVER MORE HOME!"
