The Rice County Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare. We believe that animals have basic rights that must be recognized and protected. Through community involvement, we strive for public awareness and support of these rights.
Mon-Fri 1:00pm-7:00pm, Sat 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Our organization is a donor-supported, non-profit (501(c)3) corporation. We rely on the generosity of individuals and local businesses to provide our services. We utilize paid staff and volunteers to rehome abandoned and unwanted animals, and place unclaimed pets into new, loving homes.

Rice County Humane Society thanks its generous donors for supporting our work. Together, we can continue our mission!

The Rice County Humane Society is located in Faribault, MN just a mile and a half from I35.
Animals adopted from our shelter are already spayed or neutered.
Animals at our facility do not have a time limit; we do everything we can to find good homes for everyone. As long as we keep placing pets in forever homes and keep our numbers manageable, animals may stay in our facility indefinitely.
All our animals are spayed/neutered before going to their new homes.
All animals have received their first set of vaccinations (including rabies if old enough).
All cats are FeLV negative and all adult dogs are heartworm negative. Over 6,000 animals have found new homes since Rice County Humane Society began operation in 1992.
