Tiny Paws Rescue & Sanctuary
Our Featured Pet...

Hermy - Hermy the Hammy was born September 2007. She's fairly well socialized, though she'll be even better after she's in a one-on-one home.
Hermy was born with her nine siblings(!) in her foster home just days after her mom was rescued from the shelter! She's been handled by her foster mom since she was just 7 days old! Her foster mom has a few baby pictures she can email you.
Hermy is a very light creamy color; her identical twin was adopted out already. All her other siblings were a light brown. She's going to be a full-size hamster when she's an adult, which is good because full-size hamsters make the best pets--they're the easiest to handle. However, full-size hamsters are too large for crittertrails, so she'll need either an aquarium or a plastic-bottomed, wire-topped cage. Her foster mom can help you choose an appropriate size and style and can also tell you where and how to get the best deal on her cage!
Hermy does quite well with being handled, as long as you handle her correctly. Don't worry--this is easy! Her foster mom will show you how to handle her before she goes home. She's going to make a great pet for whichever lucky person adopts her!
Hermy is currently living in Livonia (7 Mile and Middlebelt). Unfortunately, the rescue doesn't have enough volunteers to transport her to another area. Though if you ask, her foster mom can tell you about hamsters in your area if Hermy is too far away for you.
To take Hermy home or to get more information, go to www.tinypaws.org and fill out the adoption application. Once the application is received and approved, you'll be contacted within 48 hours to discuss arranging a meet-and-greet and to take Hermy the Hammy home! Email vader.erin@gmail.com with any questions.

We are in need of volunteers to help clean petters where adoptable animals are housed at the Troy Petco. Any interested volunteers should contact us through the
website.
Who We Are
Tiny Paws Rescue Sanctuary is a small scale, privately run animal rescue. We predominantly handle pocket pets, such as mice, hamsters, degus and the occasional rabbit, guinea pig or other small animal that happens to come into our care.
We work with the help of dedicated volunteers who clean cages, fill water bottles and socialize the available animals. They maintain our adoption displays in area Petco locations and help with donations and other adoption events that may take place.
We strive to create a better environment for the animals who reside in both our foster homes and our personal care. Animals are fed a balanced diet of high-quality ingredients, watered daily and their habitats are cleaned weekly or as needed for some of our more messy residents.
We currently work with Guardians for Animals and their Foster to Adopt program. This program enables potential adopters to have a 'trial' with the animal to see if it is suitable for their family. This also helps to reduce and, hopefully, eliminate the need to drop animals off at shelters, in the woods or on an unsuspecting neighbor.
We are often given the pleasure of handling pregnant animals due to improper gender difference in an animal. This can be a major problem for the average pet owner. If you are unsure of your pets gender, please contact a local veterinarian for assistance. This will help prevent unwanted pregnancies in unsuspecting pets.
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Adopting a friend
Tiny Paws Rescue & Sanctuary, Ltd. endorses the Foster To Adopt program used by our affiliate rescue groups.
As part of this no charge service, you can consult with the rescue group to pick the individual animal best suited for your family and lifestyle. This allows you to learn a more complete history of your future pet than you might with other sources such as a pet store or breeder.
You will sign a special adoption contract. This allows the rescue organization to lend you the durable equipment you need, so you need only to supply all consumable goods. We will help you select the right products to keep your pet in optimal good health.
You have 30 days to decide to keep or return your pet. You then return the durable goods to the rescue organization that loaned it to you and purchase your own housing sect. otherwise you return everything and get your adoption fee refunded. We reserve the right to charge a small fee for paperwork.
Tiny Paws Rescue & Sanctuary, Ltd. wants you and your new companion to live happily ever after!
Come Visit Us!
Although we have a central location, most of our pets are in foster homes or stationed at various Petco Pet Supply stores, as a partner to Guardians for Animals. If you are interested in a particular animal, please contact Linda, Sondra or Amanda and they will get you the appropriate information required to adopt.
