We will no longer be accepting any shelter or owner turn in dogs, after our current dogs are adopted. Who We Are
Beyond Borders is a rescue group, that takes in a few herding breeds that include Border Collies, Australian Cattle Dogs, Collies and Shelties as these are the breeds we own and are familiar with. We are a small group, that adopts dogs within the state of Michigan only. Our goal is to rescue the above herding breeds from abandonment, neglect, and abuse and place them in forever homes where they will be treated well. We do take owner surrenders, but shelter dogs with a limited time are our first priority.
Adopting a friend
If interested in any of our dogs, please email, and we will send you a application. It is our policy to do a home check, along with having a vet reference. The adoption fee on all of our dogs is $175.00 which will include altering, vaccinations, hw check, worming, and any other medical things they need prior to adoption. The dogs in our care are kept on heartworm preventative, along with advantage or frontline if needed. Our policy is also that all dogs adopted from us are kept as inside companions.
Please email if you have any questions about our dogs currently available for adoption. Often we have other dogs, that are not yet listed, if you are looking for a certain breed, it doesn't hurt to ask. Often a dog enters rescue and we will contact a pre-approved applicant before listing. We encourage you to fill out a adoption application in advance if we don't have a dog at this time that fits your lifestyle.

BBHDR operates out of foster homes, we do not have a shelter enviroment. We only allow pre-approved applicants to come and meet the dogs we currently have available for adoption.
