The Canine Connection

In Tribute to and in Memory of our beloved Bouvier "Buster" (5/93 - 5/04). The inspiration behind all we do. It has been a long time since this boy left me, but yet when I visit his grave in our pet cemetary, tears still flow as he was my canine soul mate, my best friend and my protector. I pray every day that dogs do go to heaven so I can see Buster and all of the wonderful friends that have graced my life, home and heart. Announcement

The Canine Connection has successfully adopted over 600 pups/dogs/kittens and cats since its conception over 6 years ago. We have either adopted the animals out directly from our home and operation or have assisted in placement with other rescues and humane societies (no kill of course) around the state. We are not able to accept any more dogs at this point in time as we are full and have many that have never been adopted or have been adopted and brought back for one reason or the other (mostly due to human failure) and we are hoping to start our own website in the future to be able to reach more people with complete stories on some of our guys that we have here and how they ended up with us and what pain and suffering they endured by the hands of mankind. We are always in need of bedding (bedspreads, comforters, sheets, blankets) and newspapers and potty pads. Thanks to all of you who have adopted from us and have opened up your hearts and home to one or more of our kids along the way. We are still concentrating on stopping area puppy millers and those who breed purely for profit with no regard to the welfare of the puppies and the parents. There are so many in my little area alone, which absolutely terrifies me to think of what is going on across this country. Please don't buy a dog from a breeder unless you do your homework. Most reputable breeders do not have more than two or three breeds and even then, they still need to be checked out thoroughly. Ask to see the kennel, home, the parents, the other dogs, etc. If they do not allow you to come to their home to see the puppies, keep looking as this is a huge red flag. Ask for references and follow up on those references and make sure that they are reliable references and even if you are adopting from a rescue, ask for references of people who have adopted from them in the past.
