Dobe Rescue of Michigan is a non-profit, charitable organization. We obtain Dobes that are in need of a second chance in life, through referrals or rescue. Our goal is to assist in placing these dogs for adoption.
First, we obtain the dog and place it in foster care pending evaluation. If the Dobe is in questionable physical condition, we take it directly to a veterinarian.
Next, we gather all available information (i.e. medical history, temperament, demeanor, etc.)on the dog. That information, along with meeting the dog, creates the profile of our needy Dobe.
In the foster care setting, we continue to learn about the dog while providing quiet time,exercise, socialization, and confidence building. Foster care also provides a structured environment with a consistent and dependable routine.
Basic obedience training is mandatory in order to socialize Dobermans. It also enhances the bonding with their owners. The ultimate goal is to transform our needy Dobes into loving pets.
