Barb spends as much time as possible with the animals out in the barn and tries to give each one some individual attention and training each day besides all the daily clean up work. It has been a long winter but at last we can see more mud than snow. With the rise in heating and transportation costs we have been unable to take in many animals. More people are calling, wanting to turn in animals they cannot afford. Please contribute food, blankets, or money if you can.
We as always are in need of food and bedding, especially in the winter. Please consider a tax deductible gift for the animals.
Special thanks to our volunteers. What a difference caring people can make!
EVERY penny from our fund raisers or donations is spent directly on the animals. Food, bedding, and vet bills are where most of the money goes. Barb does all the work, care, and administration out of the (very)goodness of her heart.
We are a small rural rescue which was formed some years ago as an alternative to the pound which only keeps pets seven days or less. We have a total no-kill policy so it is important to us to find our animals a home as quicky as possible so that we have room for more to be saved.
We do our best to match your needs with the personality and behaviors of a pet so that you end up with a companion for life and the pet ends up happy in their new home.
We ask a depending on care costs and breed.
If any of the animals on our list sounds like it might be what you're looking for, please contact us by phone. Barb has the animals (except the ocassional foster pet I have) at her house so she can tell you more about them by phone (269 673 6332)than I can at the e mail address. Some dogs we will not answer emails about because only Barb has info at the phone number.
We request a donation when you adopt. Amounts range from $10 to $150. depending on many factors. Please call Barb to ask the requested donation for the animal you are interested in. We sometimes also request that you have a fence for active pets. We also ask that if a pet does not work out at your home that you return it to us but we do not refund your donation. We insist on you getting your new companion altered if that hasn't already been done.
Voluteers are always welcome as are donations. If you would like to donate supplies, please contact us so that we can be sure they meet local regulations. Pet food is ALWAYS needed.
If you come to Allegan, follow the green signs on River St. to the County Service Center. Just before the Center you will find us at the big white farm house with green shutters and pine trees lining the drive.
