Canned cat food

Canned dog food

Cat litter

dog toys

We are no longer doing the spay/ neuter program. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause our loyal supporters.

WE ARE FULL!!!

We are no longer accepting surrenders of any kind. We realize that this can be a hardship to some people, but until our cat and dog populations go down, we will not take in any new pets from the public. Our facility right now is for stray animals ONLY. Thank you for your understanding.

We have some beautiful dogs and cats that need good homes. They all have their own unique personalities and behaviors. They all want homes and are looking for the right person to love them.

*ANNOUNCEMENTS*

Our prices have changed do to new state mandates. Cats are now $80 and Dogs are now $150. Both of these prices include a deposit insuring that the animal will be fixed.

We currently have no space for cat and dog surrenders. PLEASE CALL before bringing us an animal. We will not accept animals that have a history of attacking or aggression. There are some dog breeds that we do not accept as surrenders.

PLEASE never approach a stray or injured animal. They can be dangerous. If you find one please call your local police or animal control officer. Sick, injured, and stray animals can get frightened easily. If you try to tame one or pick one up you are putting yourself and your loved ones at risk.

People have been very generous with donating dog beds to our cause. We currently have 9 beds for our dogs (one became a casualty of a frustrated pooch). Those that have the beds love having something to sleep on that is off the floor. It is wonderful to see the difference that such a small item can make. The dogs usaully circle the dog bed repeatedly then very cautiously get on them. After the kennels have been cleaned the bed is the first thing that the dog looks for when he or she returns.

All of our dogs have outside access now. Our maintenance man has done a wonderful job installing the dog doors.

Currently when not working with the animals our employees are doing yard work and generally trying to make the area around the shelter more appealing. We are asking that, unless accompanied by an employee, the work areas be avoided. Thank you for your help.

We now have a fence encircling our pet area. Please do not go into the fenced part without an employee. This area is for the animals to exercise in and for them to have one on one time with the employees. Thank you for your cooperation.

We have a free to a good home board

We have a free to a good home board for the towns that are contracted with our shelter. These animals do not cost any money and they do not get any of the extras that come with pets adopted from us. Each week a pet (or pets) will be listed in this section to help it find a home. The only way to find out more information on these animals is to call their contact number. The Shelter does not have them nor does it know all the details about the animals.

Free Black Lab, male, 6 years old. He is good with children and cats. He does not like other male dogs. For more information, please call Terri Parker at 207-684- 4998.

Who Are We?

We are a little non-profit animal shelter in rural Maine. We are dedicated to finding these loving animals their forever homes. We also educate the importance of responsible pet ownership like spay/neutering, microchipping, tattooing, and licensing. Any cat or dog that is adopted from us gets a free spay/ neuter certificate with adoption, exceptions apply.

NOTE: Most of our animals are strays so we really cannot tell you about their likes, dislikes, and history. We can only tell you what we have discovered while the animal is at the shelter.
