Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Baltimore Rescue
Who We Are
The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Baltimore was organized in 1966, and has been actively involved in Sheltie Rescue since 1971.
The SSC of Greater Baltimore Sheltie Rescue, as with all purebred rescue groups, is interested in placing the breed that we love in new, permanent, suitable homes. Potential new owners are matched with a rescued Sheltie that suits their lifestyle.
Adopting a friend
All rescues available for adoption through Baltimore Sheltie Rescue have been spayed or neutered, heartworm/Lyme tested, have had shots updated, and had a Vet check for general health.
We ask a minimum adoption donation of $225 ($250 for puppies under 6 months). This donation helps offset the cost of veterinary care that each sheltie receives upon arriving in our Rescue Program.
After contacting Baltimore Sheltie Rescue, you will be asked a few questions about your home, lifestyle, and preferences. Because Sheltie Rescues reside in the homes of our club member/foster homes, it allows us the opportunity to evaluate the health, training, and behavior history of the Sheltie, which we pass along to the new owner. Every effort is made to make a perfect match between a potential adoptive family and their new sheltie friend!
