We have saved over 200 animals from euthanasia this year, but we are running low on funds and desperately need funding to help save more homeless pets. Please help us with our efforts.
Who We Are
HART (Homeless Animal Rescue and Transport) of Garrett County, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Our goal is to save homeless pets from euthanasia in our area, by doing local adoptions and by finding placement into larger rescues/no-kill shelters.
At this time, we are not able to help currently owned companion animals needing new homes, but can only concentrate our efforts on homeless (shelter) animals in danger of being euthanized.
Our efforts are totally supported by public donations. If you would like to help save homeless pets in our area from euthansia, you can send a donation to our address. All donations are tax deductible.
Adopting a friend
We are now doing local adoptions for the numerous Garrett County Animal Shelter kittens. All the kittens fostered by our group are altered and up to date on shots (for their age). If you are interested in any of our kittens, please contact us through email:

For Rescue Groups: We Transport to meet Rescues!
We know we are far away from the big cities and we make transport trips to the Hagerstown, Fredrick, Baltimore area often, to get animals to safety, usually transporting once a week, so animals don't die in our local shelter simply because there isn't enough room. If you have room in your rescue for any animals we can help get them to you!
