Shetland Sheepdog Rescue Club of Southern MD
Who We Are
The Shetland Sheepdog Rescue Club of Southern MD is a non-
profit group established to provide care for abused and abandoned Shetland Sheepdogs, assistance to Sheltie owners, and information on the breed. We are active in rescue, lost and found and information and referrals. Our main goals are the protection of shelties already here, the prevention of further over breeding and the education of any sheltie owner who requests it.
Adopting a Friend
Adoptions occur after completing an application for adoption. You are placed on a waiting list to be contacted. Arrangements can be made to meet the dog before an adoption. There is an adoption fee of $180.00. All dogs have had all shots, rabies shots, tested for heartworms and placed on heartworm preventative. They are also spayed/neutered before being placed. If the adoption is not
successful, the dog must be returned to the rescue club.
Volunteering and Donations
Anyone interested in being a volunteer or providing foster homes is encouraged to contact the rescue club. The club is also in need of the following donations:
- Any monetary donation no matter whether large or small is greatly appreciated. Money donated goes toward all vet bills.
- We are also saving the following for our rescue club:
- Ken L Ration Homeless Homer Symbols on all dry, canned and dog treats as well as Morris the cat symbols on catfood.
- Purina Dry Dog Food: Weight circles on all 17.5 bags or larger except for Field Master and Mainstay.
