2009 PAW PRINTS PET CALENDARS

Great Gift for the Animal Lover

The Scituate Animal Shelter is proud to announce the release of its Second Annual Pet Photo Calendar, “PawPrints in the Sand 2009.” The Calendar features photos submitted by pet lovers everywhere. Each month, the Calendar also highlights a special animal that found a happy ending thanks to the Shelter and its dedicated volunteers.
Calendars are for sale at the Shelter during public hours and at many retailers around the South Shore. A list of these retailers (and sponsors) is available on the Shelter's website: (www.town.scituate.ma.us/animalshelter/index.html). All proceeds from the sale of the Calendar will go to the Shelter's 3A Farm Fund Capital Campaign. This Capital Campaign supports the building of a new animal shelter. For more information, please call the Shelter at (781) 545-8703. .

HELP THE SHELTER RELOCATE

Please Donate to "The 3A Farm Fund"

Plans are underway to relocate the current Scituate Animal Shelter to a four-acre site on the corner of Route 3A and Mann Lot Road in Scituate, known as "The 3A Farm." A new 2,500 square-foot facility will be built to accommodate the growing regional need to help stray, homeless, injured, and surrendered companion animals.

No taxpayer dollars will be involved in the $1.15-million cost for the land, building, and related expenses. The relocation will be paid for with proceeds from the sale of the existing shelter site on the Driftway in Scituate, funds from the Eleanor R. Haughey Trust, and funds raised through a capital campaign.

With backing from the Scituate Selectmen, the Friends of the Scituate Shelter Board of Directors has initiated a capital campaign to raise the funds needed to purchase the land, equipment, and furnishings. To date, $920,000 has been raised. The remaining $280,000 must be raised before we break ground in 2008. Tax deductible donations are welcome and should be sent to the "Shelter 3A Farm Fund" P.O. Box 823, Scituate, MA 02066. The Shelter accepts cash, checks, VISA, and Mastercard.

For more information, please call the Shelter at 781-545-8703 or visit www.3afarmfund.com. Thank you for helping the homeless animals at the Scituate Animal Shelter.

ABOUT THE SCITUATE ANIMAL SHELTER

The Lucky Ones Come to Us!

Run by the Friends of the Scituate Shelter, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, the no-kill Scituate Animal Shelter proudly celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2003. To date, the Shelter has successfully found new homes for over 3,000 domestic pets. Our informal motto -- "The lucky ones come to us" -- is one we live by every day.

All our cats and dogs are combo and heartworm tested, and all our animals are innoculated and spayed/neutered (if at least six months of age). For more information, please visit our website: Scituate Animal Shelter.

ADOPTING A PET

The Scituate Animal Shelter accepts pet adoption applications at the Shelter. If you have questions about adopting or caring for a pet, please call us.
