Who We Are

The MSPCA Springfield Animal Care and Adoption Center is the busiest of 7 MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Centers statewide. An open-door facility, we turn away no one. More than 7,000 dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, reptiles, and wildlife are received yearly. At any given time, the center may house approximately 30 dogs, 100 cats, and 30 small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Playrooms in the Cat Pavilion allow cats to explore and climb, and extra roomy runs for dogs allow for play and socialization.

Adopting a friend

Prospective adopters and visitors are welcomed between the hours of 12 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; 12-7 on Thursdays; and 11-4 on Saturdays and Sundays. If you'll be coming to adopt a particular animal, you can call the adoption center front desk at (413) 736-2992 to see if he or she is still available.

Potential adopters can get to know a cat in the Cat Pavilion's Visiting Room. Dogs can be taken outdoors on leash. After deciding on a pet, a written application must be filled out. Once approved, an adoption counselor discusses behavior and care before sending you home with your new friend.
