Hingham Animal Control Divission has a 100% placement rate for the strays impounded in our shelter when the owner can not be located. We have a gift account set up for persons wishing to help our shelter animals with donations of funds, goods or services. ALL donations received by the department are used exclusively to improve the lives, health and comfort of the shelter animals. Who We Are
We are a local government animal control department providing 7 day a week, 24 hour a day emergency coverage. The department consists of one full time dog officer. SORRY!, our shelter does NOT have cats!
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is $25.00 plus a $10.00 additional fee to cover rabies vaccination prior to adoption.

Our bi-town shelter is The Althea Griffin Animal Rescue Shelter located at 87 Wharf Street East Weymouth, Mass. (Off Commercial and East Streets). Please call us at 1-781-741-1490 to make an appointment to view our dogs in person!
From Route 3 South: Exit at the second Weymouth exit (route 18) North bound take the first Weymouth exit, continue on Route 18 north 1/8 th mile to the light on Winter Street, take right onto Winter St. to end (Middle St.) go left on Middle St. through 3 sets of lights to until you come to artilery piece, bear right around Legion Field, go past The High School and turn left on East St. (2nd left) to the fork in the road and take the right fork to Wharf St. The shelter is the last building on the right at the end of Wharf St.
