Welcome to the Feline Adoption & Rescue Society

About Us

The Feline Adoption & Rescue Society, Inc. (FARS) is a non-profit agency providing care and services for cats and kittens in selected communities in Massachusetts. Our mission is to transform the areas that we target into a communities that are safe for cats and kittens by providing dynamic programs that ensure the health and welfare of the their feline population.

Adopting a Friend

The cats and kittens we have available for adoption are listed on our Petfinder page.

Prior to adoption, all of our cats are tested for FeLV, spayed or neutered, up-to-date on Rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and micro-chipped.

Our adoption fees are as follows:

  • $175.00 for kittens (cats under 1 year old)
  • $125.00 for cats 1 year old and older
  • $50.00 for special needs cats (e.g., chronic conditions such as FIV+ cats, diabetic cats)
  • If 2 cats are adopted at together, there will be a $25 discount off the adoption fee of 1 of the cats.

    • Our cats and kittens are either in foster homes or in one of our shelters located in Petsmart stores in Framingham or Cambridge, MA.
