Ebony the Hero-One of our Rescued SENIOR Boston Terriers Saves Priest!
Ebony is a nominee for the Lewyt Award for Heroic & Compassionate Animals, presented four times a year by the North Shore Animal League America to heroic animals who have found homes with the help of humane societies and animal control agencies.
On St. Patrick's Day Father Ed picked up his newly adopted dog, Ebony, and took her to the rectory for her first night as his new best friend.
Tragedy struck during the night - there was a fire, but Ebony alerted Father Ed about the fire & both of them were saved.
What a remarkable dog! This is an 8 year old female Boston Terrier that we rescued in PA - she was rescued because she was in an ad for a "Free Dog" - just another throw away older dog!!!
Thank goodness that all of this happened & we were able to get Ebony to Father Ed when we did or it is possible that Father Ed would not have survived the fire - this is something we read about in the papers, but this is one of our rescues - we should all be VERY proud of Ebony & that she is part of our rescue!!!
Unfortunately, Ebony will have to stay in foster care with another wonderful volunteer in NH until the rectory can be repaired.
