Pet of the Week: ZORRO!
Who is that MASKED MAN? This little swashbuckler loves adventure and excitement...a real movie star! Zorro is sweet and snuggly but also likes his own time to bounce around and graze on his hay. He might like a lovely maiden to rescue so if your rabbit is looking for a boyfriend, Zorro might just be the hero for her.
Our Thanks to Dr. Peduzzi and the Staff of Hudson Animal Hospital
We are grateful to the staff of Hudson Animal Hospital who provided shelter and care to one of our rescued bunnies - Roger. Special thanks to Dr. Roger Peduzzi who donated his services to neuter this rabbit. The Hudson Animal Hospital can be reached at Tel: 978-562-2868.
Meet new and interesting people - Become a Bunny Foster Home!
We currently have ten foster family members in Massachusetts, but would like to add five more in the next six months. This helps us better deal with crisis situations when our current foster homes are filled to capacity. Being a foster home is a wonderful experience. Your commitment of three months, or longer, makes the difference between life and death for wonderful pets. Seeing a foster pet find a 'forever' home is very rewarding. BunnyHugger's has found wonderful homes for all of the pets it helps. As a foster family, you will be given crates for rabbits and guineas. Plus access to a network of genuinely good people who can provide support and advice if and when you need it.
If interested in finding out more, please email us at bunnyhomes@yahoo.com. Thank You!
Donations Welcome!
If you aren't able to be a foster home, but would like to help in other ways...we would be grateful for donations of towels, blankets, rabbit crates and habbitats, waterbottles and excercise pens. Please contact us!
Who We Are
BunnyHuggers is a small group of foster families who came together following the rescue of 55 bunnies from a 'Hoarder' situation in November 2002. Racing against the onset of a harsh New England winter and the effects of long term neglect, all of the rabbits were brought to safety over a period of about three weeks. Some were placed immediately with other rabbit rescue groups throughout New England. Others were placed with caring foster homes. Since December, many of these lovely bunnies have found adoptive homes. BunnyHuggers is committed to finding the best 'forever' homes for the remaining bunnies, and to support the continuing search for adoptive homes for other animals in our foster homes. We also act as a referral service for local animal control officers and additional foster homes.
We are not a physical shelter, but a small network of foster homes who care for rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs and cats in Massachusetts. We are unable to take animals from private homes as space is limited to our foster homes.
Adopting a friend
The first step is to contact us via email. Please make sure to include your name, address and phone number. We will call back to talk with you more about the pet you are interested in. An Adoption Contract will be signed to complete the adoption process. Our adoption fees are to cover our vet costs, and are $165 for dogs, and $50 for bunnies.
