Filling out one of our online Adoption applications is the best way to reach us and we will process them in the order in which they are received. Because we're a volunteer organization, please be patient with us.
Our adoption fee for cats and kittens is $125.00 ($150 for exotic breeds). If you are interested in any of our four-footed friends, please fill out one of our online adoption application form or call (978)779-8287, or email adoptions@scfaw.org.
Click "Our Pet List" above to see them! All are spayed/neutered, dewormed, tested for diseases, and flea free.
Kittens under the age of 6 months must be adopted in pairs unless there is already a cat living in the home. This is for the emotional health and development of the kitten. They are too young to be left alone for extended periods of time as they become desperately lonely and can develop neurotic behaviors. They need constant companionship and a feline playmate to help them learn to be a well-adjusted cat.

ADOPT-A-THONS ARE A SUCCESS! Since June of 2002, Second Chance Fund for Animal Welfare has been hosting adopt-a-thons at the PETCO on Rt. 9 in Shrewsbury, MA. Shoppers can meet adoptable cats/kittens there, and fill out adoption applications. Volunteers are on hand to answer questions, and help you find that special feline companion.
The Shrewsbury Petco adopt-a-thons are held on alternating Saturdays between 11:00 and 3:00. Check our home page for the date of our next adopt-a-thons. Click here for our: HOME PAGE.
Who We Are
We are a nonprofit public charity offering a range of services
including spay/neuter funding and community outreach. We also offer a Trap-Neuter-Return
(TNR) Program which focuses on managing homeless cat colonies. Our goal is to eliminate the suffering
and overpopulation of companion animals, stray and feral cats and dogs
throughout Worcester County, Massachusetts by forming
a broad alliance with veterinary hospitals, shelters, animal control professionals
and volunteers.
Volunteers and Donations
We are always looking for volunteers. Interested? Please call us at the number listed below or email us. Donations are always welcome, and are tax deductable. If you'd like to contribute, in anyway, call or email us. Or click on the Would You Like To Help? link on our website to donate on line. Thanks!
Adopting a friend
We provide foster care for rescued homeless cats, usually moms with kittens due or already born. Once the cats and kittens are weaned, tested, spay/neutered and socially ready, we offer them for adoption to suitable homes.
If you are interested in adopting
a cat or kitten or any other animals you find in Our Pet List, please call us at (978)779-8287 or read more about our adoption process by clicking on the Adoption Services link on our website. You'll find important information there, and an Adoption Application Form that can be filled out online, and forwarded directly to us. Thanks!
