Wow! The summer is really starting off great! We have had some wonderful adoption rates this month alone! Please make plans to come visit the shelter soon and see which animal you would like to make a home for.
Our new office hours are as follows:
Mon-Thurs. 9am-4pm. and Fri. 8am-11am. Closed to public on weekends and all National holidays.
Please feel free to call the shelter or come by to view the animals we have up for adoption.
I want to thank everyone in advance for your patience and understanding during this time of reconstructing the website, and undergoing new management at the Shelter. Hopefully things will be running smoothly soon.
News
All the animals up for adoption have received their first set of Vaccinations and worming.
Unfortunately, we do not have the means to have the animals spayed/neutured in advance, but our local vets have been wonderful enough to honor the Pet Aid voucher with proof of adoption from the shelter. The adoption contract also pays for the animals rabies vaccination in full. The adoption fee is $46.00.
Please make plans to come by our Shelter and open up your hearts and homes to one of our Town's displaced animals.

The shelter is always in need of the following donations:
Towels, Rags, Mats or rugs, Food and Water bowls, Blankets, Leashes, Collars, Brushes, Litter pans, Toys, Dog and Cat Carriers, a puppy play yard.
Your donations are greatly appreciated, and of course, we will come pick up the items if it is more convienent for you.
Any monetary donations can be dropped off at Walker Town Hall Mon-Fri from8am-4:30pm

Who We Are
Walker Animal Control Center is a small shelter located in Walker, Louisiana; serving the residents located inside the city limits of our beautiful city of Walker. We strive to educate the public in responsible pet ownership and find loving responsible homes for our unwanted and abused pets.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is $46.00. This fee will pay for the spay or neuter, one rabies vaccination, the first set of shots and the first worming. All adopters are required to sign an adoption contract. This contract insures that the pet will be responsibly cared for, spayed or neutered and kept as a lawful, loving pet by a responsible pet owner! For more information please feel free to call Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 4PM and Friday 8AM to 11AM.

The Shelter is located on Ball Park Rd in Walker. Ball Park Road is located off of Hwy 447 (Walker North Rd) appx. one mile north of Florida Blvd. After turning onto Ball Park Rd (right), turn right at the first mailbox on the right, just past the stop sign.
