Donate a Bed

We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our shelter because they are so good for our dogs. But we don't have enough. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.

WHO WE ARE

We are a no-kill shelter in Lafayette (Carencro), LA that houses, on average, over 75 dogs and 75 cats. We also provide for more animals living in foster homes. All of our animals are current on shots, and all are spayed/neutered. Cats are tested and vaccinated for Feluk and FIV. Dogs are tested for heartworms and if necessary, treated. All dogs are microchipped prior to adoption.
We do not discriminate against any animal due to size, age, color, or breed. Intakes are dependent upon availability of space at the shelter.

Adoption fees for both cats and dogs are $125.00.

ADOPTING A FRIEND

Come visit our shelter and find a friend for life! We are all volunteers here at the shelter, so we cannot be open to the public 7 days a week at this time. Pet Adoption Days are every Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM until 4 PM at the shelter. We can also meet visitors on weekdays by appointment. Please contact us or stop by!

OUR WISH LIST

Please visit our website for a list of needed items!!

Our Website

Monetary donations are very welcome, very needed, and gratefully accepted. It costs money to feed, shelter, and care for an animal, and LAA does it on a large scale.
And the dogs and cats want us to remind you that TREATS are always a very welcome donation!!

SCIENCE DIET SHELTER PARTNER FEEDING PROGRAM

Lafayette Animal Aid is proud to be a member of the Science Diet Shelter Partner Program.

Hill's Science Diet nutrition is so complete, even shelter executives report that it helps malnourished pets show improvement within days. Plus, with Science Diet, there's less mess and odor.

That means pets are healthier and our shelter is more inviting to visitors. And that means faster adoptions!

And the adopters love receiving the free bag of food and our advice about feeding.

VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering is a rewarding activity and is the backbone of our organization. Helping a homeless animal lets you experience how much love these animals have for people, even if they have only experienced abuse. Volunteering means "To do charitable or helpful work without pay" so while there are fun parts, there are also not so fun parts involved that still need to get done. But the rewards are enormous. You are volunteering for your own benefit as much as for the animals in your care! Call 337-896-1553 for more info.

We are also in need of foster homes for cats and dogs.
