Our Pet List

Thank you for visiting. Please take a moment to read the following guidelines for adoption. If you have not adopted before, the instructions will provide you with an overview of what to expect, and a general timeline. If you are familiar with the adoption process, you will understand our requirements. The timeline for the adoption process is usually several days. You should expect to be involved and available. The process begins as soon as you email expressing an interest in one of our listed pets. This means you can expect to be asked to complete an application. We ask this because we assume you are seriously considering adopting the pet you are inquiring about. If you are not prepared to adopt at this time, or are searching other shelters and/or rescues, trying to decide, please give us this information in your initial email. We will answer any questions you have, but will understand that you are not committed. We expect the completed application to be returned to us within two (2) days. We will not allow our companions to miss an opportunity for a permanent home due to the lack of a resonable response time. When your application is received, we will immediately check your references. Pending approval of the adoption, we will call you to schedule a home visit. When the adoption is approved, your new companion will be ready and waiting. We anticipate you picking him/her up within a day or two. In the event that transport is required, we will work to provide assistance in getting your new companion home as quickly as possible. Please be aware that many people, all volunteers, may be involved in working to place an animal in a new home. There are rescuers, who save an animal from euthanasia, or remove it from an abusive situation. There are people who generously provide a foster home. There are people who manage the Petfinder page, taking pictures, writing descriptions, answering emails, and overseeing the adoptions and home visits. There are people who coordinate transport routes to provide animals a way to get to their new home. But, just as often, only one person is trying to accomplish most of these tasks alone. We are pleased that you are making the choice to adopt, and want to make the experience a positive one for all involved. Your consideration in following the guidelines is deeply appreciated.
