****We are NOT the Humane Society**** They are a completely different organization. They are located on Petfinder also. *************************************************** The Gallatin County Animal Shelter serves all of Gallatin County, Kentucky. Although we make every effort to hold adoptable animals as long as possible, we are NOT a "no-kill" shelter, and "ALL" animals should be considered **URGENT**. The adoptions at this shelter are handled by the A.C.O. and Staff. See NEW hours listed. Please be patient with us as we will try to get back to you as quickly as possible. We can get hundreds of emails on just one animal and only one person handles the website, updates, and replys, after working at the Shelter they go home & do the website & emails from their home. Please try to be patient with us. We will try to reply quickly but sometimes that is not an option. PLEASE read our whole page to familiarize yourself with our policies and Fee's before emailing or calling with questions. All the info we have about each animal is put on their BIO page. MUST READ ! ***** The animals available for adoption at the Gallatin County Animal Shelter are what we term as"random source" which means we accept unwanted and stray animals with limited or no history. It is important that you are aware that although we have observed the animals for basic symptoms of disease and behavior problems we can not be certain or held liable that they are free of such problems. They could be incubating a disease or develop an inherited problem or behavior at any time. Our animals have NOT been vet checked. We want you to be aware of such possibilities. We expect every adopter to take their newly acquired pet to their vet for vaccinations and a thorough exam at the owners expense. Look for the Big, Blue, Dog Bone ! (859) 643- DOGS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DRIVING DIRECTIONS:From Cincinnati area From Cincinnati area, Get on Interstate 71 SOUTH drive to EXIT 62 (Glencoe/Owenton) take Exit 62 ramp. At top of Exit ramp turn LEFT (you are now on hwy 127). Drive approximate 1 mile as you get to top of hill you will see paved road to your right (HWY 455) Turn RIGHT onto Hwy 455. Drive 1 and half mile up 455. We are located on left side in a cream colored building with blue trim, gravel drive. Look for the *Big Blue Dog Bone Sign*. IF YOU PASS US, you will go right past the Water District. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DRIVING DIRECTIONS:From Louisville area From Louisville area, Get on 71 North. Drive to EXIT 62 Glencoe/Owenton. At top of Exit Ramp turn RIGHT onto Hwy 127. Drive approx. 1 mile. At top of hill you will see paved road HWY 455 on your right. Turn right onto Hwy 455. Drive 1 and half mile up road and we are located on LEFT side in cream colored building with blue trim.
