We are currently unable to house strays for more than one or two days due to heavy boarding. Please check with Project S.A.F.E. and the local Animal Shelter for homeless pets.
Who We Are
Cumberland Valley Animal Hospital, PSC is not an animal shelter, but we are often left with unwanted pets. Sometimes we arrive in the morning to a box of puppies or even a hamster on the front porch. Although this is cruel and illegal, it still happens. Sometimes a client never returns for a hospitalized or boarded pet. We do what we can to find homes for these animals, but cannot keep them indefinitely due to the space required for our hospital. We try to keep hard-to-adopt, non-aggressive pets as long as possible and are often successful in finding them homes.
Our adoption fee is $50 to cover first vaccination and worming as well as a spay or neuter. If the animal is too young to be spayed or neutered before adoption, we require that the animal be spayed or neutered when it is between four and six months old. If it is spayed or neutered here, the spay or neuter is covered by the adoption fee. The adoption fee is NOT refundable if the animal is spayed or neutered elsewhere nor if the animal is returned to us for any reason.
We appreciate donations to our Stray Animal Fund. The Fund helps us provide food and medical care for unwanted pets prior to adoption. We welcome old towels and blankets to make our unwanted pets more comfortable during their stay.
Project S.A.F.E. (Eastern Kentucky Animal Welfare League) also has an account with us and we can accept donations against their medical bills.

We are located behind the Flea Land flea market on 229. Lagoon Trail is betweek Flea Land and Averitt Express and our driveway is opposite FedEx. Our sign is royal Blue with white lettering.
