Pet of the Month
Introducing Skittles...
This pretty girl is Skittles. She came to us in the spring as a young mom and has now raised her kittens. She is only about 1 yr old (as of 12/8). She is a beautiful and lively Tortoiseshell. She is a very sweet cat who likes being around people. She is calm, but does still like to play. Her kittens have all been adopted, and we are hoping for a special home for her. Maybe she is the cat you have been searching for. Skittles sure hopes so!
Who We Are
Paris Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) is a shelter located in Paris, KY, just 20 miles east of Lexington. The shelter houses dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, all are looking for new homes.

P.A.W.S. Portable Adoptions
We have portable adoptions most every Saturday from noon to 3:00 at the PetSmart in Hamburg Pavilion in Lexington, KY. Please stop by and meet some of our adoptable cats and dogs.

6/16: P.A.W.S. 15th Annual Golf Tournament. June 16 at the Houston Oaks Golf Course. This event is lots of fun and there any many great prizes to be won. Just click golf tourney for details and a registration form on our other website. Come join us and support P.A.W.S.!
5/1- 5/11: Mayfest at Gratz Park in Lexington, KY. P.A.W.S. will have a booth at this event with merchandise and adoptable pets. Please stop by and see us.

Many of the animals that come into the shelter each year touch our lives. They all have their own individual personalities and their own needs– but all of them have a lot to give in return. There are some stories, however, that stand above the others in the degree to which they have impacted the lives and hearts of the shelter's staff and volunteers. Adopting a Friend
P.A.W.S. adoption fee is:
Dogs - $85 which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, rabies shot, free vet check voucher and heartworm testing.
Cats - $65 which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, rabies shot, free vet check voucher, and FeLV/FIV combination test.

With your adoption, you are now entitled to a FREE (custom made) pet collar from Quillin Leather & Tack. Your collar comes ready to use with a Quillin name plate. If you would like to have a personalized name plate, which is a good way to identify your pet should it ever become lost, you may contact Quillins to arrange for the custom plate to be made at a small additional charge. This collar will look classy and last for years to come!Â

P.A.W.S. is always willing to do long distance adoptions. For Bourbon County residents, the pet license is included in the adoption fee.
P.A.W.S. 2008 Planner
The wonderful 2008 Planners are now on sale for half price. The contain all the charming photographs from our photo contest. They will make great Christmas gifts. They are $6 and can be purchased at several Paris locations (our Vet Clinics) and at the shelter. You can also order one via mail by sending your addresss and $8 to P.A.W.S. Get organized and support P.A.W.S.!
P.A.W.S. T-Shirts
The newly designed PAWS t-shirts are now available. With these shirts, you can show your support for PAWS and our homeless pets. The shirts cost $15, and come in sizes S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. They are available in 5 colors—burnt orange, honey, night blue, plum and sand. Samples of the colors are below. You can obtain one of these shirts at the shelter. We hope to see you wearing your support of PAWS soon!

Volunteering and Donations
P.A.W.S. has many volunteer needs - animal transport, portable adoptions help, foster care, handy person, and gardener just to name a few. If you want to make a difference, contact P.A.W.S.
P.A.W.S. is a non-profit organization and welcomes all donations.
