Upcoming Adoption Events
We'll have puppies and dogs at Meadowbrook Mall in Pittsburg from 10:30am to 3pm on the following Saturdays: April 26, May 10, May 24, and June 28.
We're also having an Adopt-a-thon at the humane society May 3 and 4. We'll have refreshments - please stop by.
Thanks to everyone who came by Meadowbrook Mall on April 12 - we found homes for 5 of our dogs.
Who We Are
The Southeast Kansas Humane Society of Crawford County, Kansas began operation in 1973. Its purpose is to shelter homeless and abused animals, operate a progressive adoption program, investigate abuse cases, and encourage the spay/nuetering of animals in order to control over population.
The Southeast Kansas Humane Society is a non-profit organization with a 501C tax status.
Approximately 1500 animals a year pass through the shelter gates.
Adopting a friend
The shelter is usually at capacity with approximately 90 dogs and 30 cats awaiting adoption. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $50.00 and $35.00 for cats and kittens. All animals have received their first basic shots, have been wormed, and spayed/neutered.
