News
Our current projects for this year include...Getting additional marketing opportunities through the internet, researching and obtaining grant money to begin a monthly pet spay/neuter program in 2006 and holding our annual Trivia Contest in September.
Who We Are
We are a non-profit organization which began in September 1997 by placing out first two puppies at the Norton Correctional Facility in Norton, Kansas. The dogs are placed with inmate dog handlers where housebreaking, basic obedience and socialization begin. The dogs remain at the facility for at least thirty days while members of our organization locate new homes for them. We have a reasonable adoption fee of $60 to help cover the cost of spay/neuter, shots, food, etc. As of 5/19/05, we have had 275 dogs enter the program and hope to hit the 300 mark by the end of the year.
Adopting a friend
You may contact one of the members listed below to set up a time to view the dogs or visit with us about the current dogs available or other questions about the program. If you use the Norton Correctional Facility number during working hours, please realize that conversations must be kept to a minimum. We often allow the dogs to go to their prospective new homes on a trial basis but do require all payment and paperwork before the dog leaves the facility.
