We provide animal control services for all unincorporated areas of La Porte County, and we also operate the county animal shelter. We are dedicated to citizen safety, animal rescue, and encouraging responsible pet ownership through education and reduced-cost spay/neuter vouchers. We enforce municipal ordinances and laws governing animal control and protection and provide a safe and caring environment for stray animals in need.
While our primary goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners, we are also committed to finding responsible, loving homes for as many animals as possible.
We also sell La Porte County dog tags that must be purchased yearly per County ordinance. The cost is $5.00 per tag or $50.00 for a kennel license (6 dogs or more).

The adopted animal must be spayed or neutered by a specific date and a legally binding contract to that effect must be signed at the time of the adoption.
Adoptions are open to residents of La Porte County; however, out-of-county adoptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We do not ship animals to adopters.
