Who We Are
The LaGrange County Animal Shelter is a small facility that serves the rural community of LaGrange County Indiana. We had a new facility built the summer of 2006 but we still can't keep up with all the animals we get in. We try very, very hard to place them with adoptions or rescues so we don't have to euthanise BUT we need your help. We must keep getting them out to prevent this.
We are always desperately seeking volunteers and donations. Please consider us as you decide to volunteer for community service. We can always use help with cleaning, walking dogs, etc.
We are able to house 20 adult dogs and several puppies. We also house several cats.
We are always looking for donations. We feed Science Diet and are on the program but we can use little bits for small dogs as that isn't on the program. Our Science Diet program is from donations. We can also use collars and leashes, paper towels, laundry soap and bleach, kennels and crates.
Adopting a friend
It is very easy to adopt a shelter pet and they are always so appreciative that you have saved their lives. An adoption application and contract must then be filled out and signed along with a home visit to complete the adoption process. We also microchip each pet adopted.
We are also very rescue friendly with no pull fee, however, donations would be welcomed.

We are located 1/2 of a mile west of State Road 9 on C.R. 300 South in LaGrange, IN 46761. From the north, take the toll road (or highway 20) to Highway 9 and turn south. The shelter is approximately 4 miles south of the town of LaGrange and you will turn right on CR300S. From the south, take Highway 6 to Highway 9 and turn north. You will pass through Rome City and Wolcottvile. It is approximately 5 miles from Wolcottville. As you pass the small town of Valentine begin looking to your left for CR300.
Our hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 11-4, Wednesday 1-6 and Saturday 9-2. We are closed on Monday and Sunday.
