We are running our rescue group as a solution to a Huge pet overpopulation problem, so we certainly do not make any profit! Rather it can become quite costly at times. We want to THANK our volunteers who offer their time and resources!
***************************************************************************************************************
Often times a rescued DOG brings along their "sack", and in this sack are old hurts and lessons learned in a previous unfriendly world. Are you prepared to love your new dog unconditionally and help him forget his "sack of woes"?
Dogs are loving and very social creatures. They do not make good outside family pets, they need, and want, to be a member of the inside "pack".
We are here to help you find the right, forever friend for you. It is important that we honestly assess each situation to find the perfect "love connection", both for the potential adopter and the dog.
************************************************************************************************************************
NEXT, we ask that you fill out an application. This is where you will tell us which animal you are most interested in and add a little about yourself and the home you will provide..
We have a responsibility to find the MOST COMPATIBLE homes for our dogs. Often we receive many applicants on one animal and the choice is difficult. There are many factors that we consider, however, we will gladly work with you to find another companion if your first choice becomes unavailable.
Please understand that we do not intend to be intrusive, but rather through careful placements, including vet and home checks, we are better able to successfully match the right Doggie and Mommie and/or Daddy!

ADOPTION DONATIONS: Please keep in mind that all donations provide us with the funds for vetting and foster care for ALL our rescues. Adoption donations run between $65 - $395, and is dependent on the health, age and breed of the dog. They are not negotiable.
Although the adoption donation is a way to subsidize costs of caring for the numerous dogs we take in, it also serves one greater function. The adoption donation will deter people who are not willing to spend money on their animals. We are searching for homes that are financially and emotionally able to commit 15+ years to our dogs. In most cases, our adoption donations do not cover the costs of the care we provide for our fosters. We do NOT make any profit whatsoever, we are an all-volunteer organization. We rely SOLEY on donations to survive.
WE DO PROVIDE: primary vaccines, rabies vaccines, heartworm testing, worming, spaying or neutering ALL our rescued dogs of appropriate age, medical attention for most conditions, do blood work if recommended by the Vet and prior to surgeries in dogs over 10, dentals when recommended, microchipping, health and veterinary care costs, a temporary foster home (where we are able to learn their likes and dislikes, their good and ...not so good behaviors. It also allows us to re-train the unfavorable behaviors, and to encourage the better ones), quality food and grooming.
If you'd like to sponsor a spay or neuter, please ask for our vet's phone number where you can pay directly to our rescue vet account! Or you can click on the PayPal Donation button below for a safe and secure donation! Thanks!
We exist on unpaid volunteers and donations only!
CHOOSING HOMES: All adoption applications will be thoroughly reviewed; will need two personal references and a reference from your vet. All of your current pets must be up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention and altered. Homes with breed experience and fenced in yards are given first preference. We do NOT adopt to homes who just "let the dogs out to potty" and expect them to return home safely. REGARDLESS of acreage!
AGE OF DOGS: A large percentage of our foster dogs are strays from shelters and some may be from puppy mills. We will never know the true age for these dogs. The ages listed in these circumstances reflects the age that our licensed Veterinarians estimate the dog's ages to be based on their best professional and experienced knowledge. We cannot be held responsible if two or more different Vets have two or more different opinions.
CHILDREN: Unless you have a strong background with the breed, we are very cautious when adopting to a home with children. Each application will be reviewed on case by case basis.
TRANSPORTS: We DO NOT SHIP our DOGS. Most of our fosters are located in Indiana or within 60 miles of each sister state border. Transport is the responsibility of the adopters. BEFORE you apply, make certain you have the availability to travel to the foster home, to adopt your new family member.
REMEMBER: Rescued animals are by no means perfect or show quality. They can be from puppy mills, bad breeding, unwanted, abandoned, untrained or old. Rarely do we have a lot of background on our rescues.
ALL of our rescues will be altered prior to adoptions with no exceptions. If after reading all of this and you feel you will qualify to adopt one of our foster kids, the next step in the Adoption Process is to complete an Application. If you wish to be considered for adoption, please complete the application in its entirety. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.
Click here to visit our other Website & fill out an Application!
Please keep in mind that our application processors are volunteers with jobs and families so processing your application could take 1 day-2 weeks. Please notify your vet & personal references, to expect our calls, to avoid any delays. If it is meant to be, it IS worth waiting for. Be sure to check your email daily. Thank you for your patience. We look forward to hearing from you.

Until you have held a severely ill or injured dog in your arms and felt their pain,
and until you have looked into the eyes of a tired, aging senior dog and felt their wisdom,
you will never understand the life of a rescuer.
We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces.
It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within.
We are rescue.

Sadly, 2 to 4 million puppy mill puppies are sold each year while millions of animals at shelters are euthanized for lack of good homes. To feed this brutal industry, untold numbers of breeder dogs spend their entire lives confined to tiny and filthy cages, giving birth to one litter after another until their worn-out bodies can no longer reproduce. ~ Humane Society of the U.S.

Irresponsible breeding from Backyard Breeders is the leading source of animals ending up in a shelter. Not to mention the devastation they can cause to the physical health of the animal.

A Dedication to All Those who Work in the Animal Shelters!
Our society has given to them a difficult and often heartbreaking task. It is a daily struggle that is largely unseen by the general public, and no pats on the back are given -- rarely do they ever hear a simple 'Thank you'. Yet day in and day out they meet their challenge with compassion, dignity, and humanity. From we who notice, THANK YOU!

I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'.
I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed.
I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing when I will eat next.
I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat.
I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness,
and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose.
My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.
Here in this house...
There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand,
I can enjoy the warmth of the words.
I will be given a name so that I may know who I am among many.
My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!
Here in this house...
I will never be a substitute for anything I am not.
I will never be used to improve peoples' images of themselves.
I will be loved because I am who I am, not someones idea of who I should be.
I will never suffer for someones anger, impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all.
If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.
Here in this house...
I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch...
knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me.
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed.
If sad, I will be cheered.
No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and known to be of value.
I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill, too unruly, or not cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.
I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes, be as kind and as fair as dogs.
Here in this house...
I will belong.
I will be home.
