Introducing JUNIOR!

Poor Junior has been at the pound forever and really needs a home of his own. If you're familiar with the basenji breed and have an adult home with no other animals, give Junior a chance! He's been here for months and his time is running short. With more and more dogs coming in, his cage will be needed for space. He's got a lot of energy and has had no chance to expend it since there is no excerise yard. Please help Junior find a home!

Puppy explosion! We're assisting in a long distance transport to rehome several loveable puppies. There are a few labs, some corgi mixes, and a doxie, plus a few catahoula leapard dogs. This rare breed came all the way from Alabama to look for a forever home. Check them out today!

News

We DESPERATELY need foster homes for cats, kittens and dogs. If you are interested, please email slitke1@msn.com. We are always looking for new foster homes to help keep the shelter from overflowing and needing to put down more and more animals. Volunteers are also needed to assist with our rescue efforts.

Who We Are

We are dedicated to the lost and unclaimed domestic animals in Griffith. Fostering and finding homes for them is a priority, and we also promote and enforce responsible pet ownership throughout the community. Our mission is finding forever homes for these animals. If you see a dog or cat you'd like to meet please contact us immediately as the animal you see listed today might not be with us tomorrow.

Adopting a friend

We are currently working with several different rescue groups. An application will have to be filled out before placement can be made. All animals are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before they are placed in a new home. The shelter is small so we can not keep the animals too long, so if you see someone you like please email us or call immediately because none of them have much time and it's very stressful for them in these conditions. Please email us if you would like to foster as well as adopt. The shelter is in a critical state and needs fosters now, especially for cats. If you have fostered in the past or are interested in temporarily housing a cat or dog (or kittens, which are always available) please contact the shelter for more information.

Come Visit Us!

Just email slitke1@msn.com to make an appointment to see any of the animals. They are also at Petco in Highland on Saturday and Sunday 11-4. (cats every weekend, not always dogs). You can always contact us to see if the dog you would like to meet will be at Petco or request to have one brought for you to meet. Come and visit all the animals looking for a forever home and see which one best suits your household and lifestyle.
